Getting started

From first call to first visit — we make it straightforward.

Families often put off making this call because it feels like opening a complicated door. It isn't. Here's exactly what happens when you reach out to Old Fashion Care.

First contact

Reach out — call or fill out the form

Call (919) 902-4150 or submit the contact form and we'll follow up within one business day. Either way, you'll connect directly with Regina — not a receptionist, not a scheduler.

This first conversation has no agenda beyond understanding your situation. Tell us what's going on. Ask whatever you want to know. There's no pressure to commit to anything.

What to have ready (optional — not required)

  • Your loved one's name and age
  • The main challenges they're currently facing
  • Whether care is needed immediately or you're planning ahead

Free in-home visit

Free in-home consultation — at no charge

Regina visits your loved one's home to get the full picture. She'll observe the living environment, speak directly with your loved one (with their consent), and have an honest conversation with your family about what level of support makes sense.

What happens during the consultation

  • Assessment of daily living challenges
  • Discussion of care preferences, routines, and personality
  • Review of which services are most appropriate
  • Honest answer to every question you have — including cost, timing, and what to expect

There's no charge for this visit and no obligation to proceed.

Care begins

Care begins — on your schedule

If you decide to move forward, Regina selects and introduces the right certified professional for your loved one's needs. The first visit is scheduled at a time that works for your family.

What happens after the match

  • Regina introduces the caregiver and confirms the fit before regular visits begin
  • Care begins on the schedule you've agreed to — flexible, no rigid contracts
  • Regina remains your point of contact throughout the relationship
  • If anything needs to adjust — schedule, services, or caregiver — you call Regina directly

What families ask before starting

It's okay to have doubts. Here's what most families want to know before they call.

What if my parent refuses to accept help?

This is the most common situation we encounter. Regina has navigated it many times. Often the issue is framing — being helped by a warm, competent professional feels very different from "accepting care." The consultation gives your loved one a chance to meet Regina and ask their own questions. There's no commitment required until they're ready.

What if the caregiver isn't the right fit?

Tell Regina. That's exactly what she's there for. The matching process isn't a one-time event — if something isn't working, the match changes. You're not locked in.

How quickly can care begin?

It depends on the services needed and current availability. After the consultation, Regina will give you a realistic timeline. For urgent situations, please call directly — (919) 902-4150 — rather than using the form.
